How does a Danube river cruise transfer in Vienna work?
With a Danube river cruise Vienna airport transfer, a chauffeur collects you at the landing stage on the Danube and drives you at a fixed price to Vienna airport, your hotel or the station – or the other way round. River cruise ships dock at several points along the Danube in Vienna. The best known is the landing stage at the Reichsbrücke on Handelskai; the second important landing stage is in Nussdorf. Your travel documents tell you which one your ship uses.

After a week on board, luggage is usually bulkier than on a city break. So plan the vehicle by suitcases, not just by passengers.
The Business Limousine (Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series) takes 3 passengers with 2 suitcases. The Business Van (Mercedes V-Class) takes up to 7 passengers and 6 suitcases and is often the better choice for couples with large cases. For groups of 9 to 21, we clarify luggage for the Sprinter on request.

Vienna cruise port to airport: planning your time
For the journey from the ship to the airport, allow plenty of time. Disembarkation, luggage handover on board and the walk to the vehicle often take longer than expected, especially in the morning when many guests leave the ship at once.
The pure driving time between the airport and the city centre is usually 20 to 30 minutes. Add a buffer for traffic, check-in and security. Current information on departures and terminals is available from Vienna Airport.

How do I get from the Reichsbrücke landing stage to Vienna airport?
The most comfortable way is a pre-booked transfer that collects you directly at the landing stage. The chauffeur loads your luggage and takes you to the departures terminal at a fixed price. Allow enough buffer for disembarkation and check-in.
How much is a Danube river cruise transfer in Vienna?
You receive a fixed price on request, depending on landing stage, destination, time and vehicle class. Luggage and child seats are included, and there is no meter running. That way you know the amount before your trip.
What details do you need for a pickup at the ship?
We need the name of the ship, the landing stage from your travel documents, the date, preferred pickup time, destination and the number of passengers and suitcases. You can book privately with us whichever cruise line you travel with. Documents can also be sent by email or WhatsApp.
How much luggage fits in the van?
The Business Van, a Mercedes V-Class, takes up to 7 passengers and 6 suitcases. For couples with large cruise luggage it is often a better choice than the saloon. If you have a lot of luggage, tell us the number of pieces in advance.
Will you collect us at the airport and take us to the ship?
Yes, the transfer works in both directions. We collect you in the arrivals hall, and up to one hour of waiting is free. Then we drive straight to the landing stage or, if you prefer, to your hotel first.
Can you collect a tour group from the ship?
Yes, with the Mercedes Sprinter for 9 to 21 people. We clarify group luggage when you enquire so that there is enough hold space. For very large groups we coordinate several vehicles.
What happens if the ship docks late?
Please contact us as early as possible by phone or WhatsApp. We adjust the pickup time as far as scheduling allows. We can be reached around the clock on +43 699 172 32 607.
Can we do a city tour between the ship and the airport?
Yes, this is very popular with late return flights. Your luggage stays in the vehicle while you see Vienna with the chauffeur. It is then charged by the hour, from €50 per hour including 20 km per hour, with a 2-hour minimum.

Can you take us from the ship to Vienna Central Station?
Yes, journeys to Vienna Central Station or Westbahnhof are possible. This is useful if you continue by train after your cruise. The chauffeur takes you and your luggage right to the entrance.
How do I pay for the transfer from the cruise ship?
By credit card, bank transfer or cash. We agree the payment method when booking so that you do not have to look for euros after disembarking. Tour operators and companies receive an invoice.
Is a transfer better than a taxi from the landing stage?
With lots of luggage and a fixed departure time, usually yes. You have a reserved vehicle with suitable luggage space and a fixed price. A taxi has to be called first and normally charges by the meter.
Can you collect several cabins of one group together?
Yes, friends or families travelling together often share the van or Sprinter. It is more comfortable and usually cheaper than several separate journeys. Give us the total number of passengers and suitcases.
Does the price go up in traffic on Handelskai?
No, the fixed price stays the same. We drive without a meter, so traffic or diversions do not affect your bill. For departures, however, please allow a time buffer.
Can tour operators book the transfer?
Yes, agencies and tour operators also book transfers for their guests. We send confirmations and invoices to the company. For recurring groups we are happy to agree the procedure in advance.
Is waiting time included for a pickup at the ship?
We absorb short delays during disembarkation within our planning. Free waiting of up to one hour applies at the airport and at train stations. For longer waits at the ship, we agree the pickup time with you in advance.
Is a cruise transfer possible early in the morning?
Yes, we operate 24/7, so early disembarkations or departures are no problem. The fixed price applies to the time agreed when booking, with no hidden night surcharge. Very early journeys are best confirmed the day before.
Do you drive from the ship to Budapest or Bratislava?
Yes, cross-border journeys are available at a fixed price too. Some guests start or end their Danube cruise in Budapest and travel to Vienna with us. We quote the price on request.
Can I cancel the cruise transfer free of charge?
Yes, cancellation is free up to two hours before the agreed pickup. If only the date or time changes, we adjust the booking. A short message is all it takes.
Is there Wi-Fi on the way from the ship to the airport?
Yes, Wi-Fi and water are on board. You can complete online check-in or open your boarding pass during the drive to the airport. The vehicles are no more than 36 months old.
Can you take a wheelchair or walking frame?
A folding wheelchair or rollator can travel in the boot. Let us know when booking so that enough space is planned. For special requirements we discuss the details in advance.

Are there child seats for the transfer from the ship?
Yes, child seats are free. Tell us the age or weight of the children and the right seat will be fitted when we collect you. This applies to all vehicle classes, from the van to the Sprinter.
Do the chauffeurs speak English with international cruise guests?
Yes, our chauffeurs are multilingual and English is standard. Many cruise passengers come from abroad, so this is a matter of course for us. We accommodate other languages where possible if you mention them when booking.
Where exactly does the chauffeur wait at the landing stage?
We agree the meeting point in advance, usually in the access area of the landing stage where the vehicle may stop. There the chauffeur welcomes you and takes your luggage. If anything is unclear, you can reach us by phone at any time.
How early should I book the transfer to the ship?
Ideally as soon as your flight details and landing stage are confirmed. During the cruise season vans and Sprinters are in demand, so early reservation pays off. We are still happy to check short-notice requests.
Can I plan a hotel stay before the cruise?
Yes, we take you from the airport to your hotel first and to the landing stage on a later day. You can book both journeys together and receive a fixed price for each.
Do you offer excursions on a day in port in Vienna?
Yes, many guests use a day in port for a private city tour or a trip to the Wachau Valley. With your own chauffeur you are independent of group programmes. The only important thing is returning in good time before the ship sails.
How many people fit in the saloon?
The Business Limousine or First Class takes 3 passengers with 2 suitcases. For a cruise that is usually only enough for travellers with light luggage. With more suitcases, the van is the better choice.
